2,3,5-Trimethylphenol, also known as Isopseudocumenol Or 6-Hydroxypseudocumene, is slightly soluble in water but readily soluble in methanol. The pure form is a white crystalline solid that readily oxidizes and discolors in air. It is slightly soluble in water and readily soluble in alcohol. It is corrosive, causing severe skin burns and eye damage, and is toxic to aquatic organisms.

SINOMER® 2,3,5-Trimethylphenol is a key intermediate in the synthesis of high-value pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals, including:

• Atorvastatin (a cholesterol-lowering medication)

• Mixed methomyl (an insecticide)

• Aromatic retinoic acid (for dermatological applications)

• Fmoc amino acid protecting agents

Beyond synthesis, it is utilized as an antioxidant additive to improve the durability and stability of plastics, rubber, and other polymer systems.

Additionally, the compound is found in aromatic tobacco leaves and smoke, and it is used in research and development as a reagent in organic synthesis.
