Tris-HCl is a highly efficient biological buffer and is freely soluble in water. As a key component of protein electrophoresis buffers, it is widely used as a solvent for nucleic acids and proteins. With its stable chemical properties, Tris-HCl is an ideal neutralizer in biological specimen processing.

Used in biochemical buffers, titration standards, surfactants and vulcanization accelerators.
